Bonjour. J'ai une question je possède le Garmin etrex 32x. Est-il possible d'activer appels sonores quand on s'éloigne de son tracé. Car je ne trouve pas où on pourrait activer cette option. Merci d'avance. Patrick
Sadly no way of doing what you want with a route, this video will help as it will take you through the navigational experiences you can get from a Garmin GPS unit - gpstraining.co.uk/blogs/news/the-frequently-asked-questions-we-get-about?_pos=1&_sid=e51dd621e&_ss=r#COURSE
I would say 8 hrs tops out of the battery. Bring a charging pack with cord.
Hi, thank you very much it's very useful! Do you know by chance if I can show the time of the day with seconds? and is the memory enough for multiple trips?
Congratulations Jon! Followed you on the tracker. 👏👏
Would you recommend this device for atv usage? Is it still worth the investment knowing it’s almost a 5 year old device?
GPS Jon, it was so much fun sharing so many miles with you on the PW. Thank you and well done you, massive achievement. Great video, brings back so many memories and the church... definitely an over rated place to sleep 😅
Well done John, good man! Full summer spine next eh? Oh I'm doing the PW myself and using the same 67 plus Fenix. I'm going N to S and forgot to reverse the GPX file and couldn't understand why the arrow always pointed 180 off track😂 Take care now, Stephen
Thank you so much! I thaught I have to remove the back and replace it with the Carabiner clip... You prevented me from destroying the device 🙂
Got the 65s. Like it very much found I need to recalibrate the compass often as I often drive 200 km from the last place I used it. Getting used to Reset it before starting my next hike catches me out sometimes too. Slowly learning. Regards vk5cz ..
One thing I noticed is that it performs poorly in a forest. It wasn’t even all that overgrown . Every time I had a clear view, I was standing still but the map was moving as if to recoordinate. I’m pretty sure that my previous gpsmap 66st did better. You may want to give it a try and comapre it to a different gps unit.
When standing still with this type of Garmin with the default auto compass setting, it is not the GPS signal that aligns or moves the map orientation but the electronic compass , once you start moving over approx 2.5mph it is then the satellite signal that aligns the map orientation. I would re-calibrate the electronic compass by pressing the menu button once whilst on the compass screen and selecting calibrate compass and follow on screen instructions. Potentially a very weak GPS signal could make the device think that you are moving but I have not seen a GPS signal drop that low in the outdoors to make this device show me moving over 2.5mph. You could next time you are in a similar location add a current speed field to a databox and see if it shows you moving around a speed of over 2.5mph, hope this helps, also for a stronger satellite lock make sure in setup - system you have multi gnss and multi band duel frequency both turned on 🙂
Thanks for the update. My 67i is a big improvement on my 66, its a lot faster response time and a better experience. How do you organise your routes on a pc, do you use Basecamp?
Hi, great videos for the epix 2. Im getting better with it but still a bit confused with the map settings & map themes, what are the recommendations for for hiking on a pre planned route from all trails for instance.
If you are wanting to get to grips with your watch the best option is to look at our 'online resource', there are a number of free vids in that which will help get you going - gpsonlinecourse.co.uk/

How do you use Garmin etrex 32x for Land division
This really is a deal breaker for me. I was close to buying an Apex 2 this week but yet another "change for change sake" by the Coros devs. Getting rid of the previous design with each metric in a box when displaying more data makes it harder to read. Larger, fonts lead to a more cramped screen and the design is visually jarring for neurodivergent people like myself
Hi I love you
Great video ,i just bought this gps unit, and with your knowledgeable video i now understand how to use it and map out a trail, i intend on going to loch lomond and now i feel confident i wont get lost along the way lol
Glad it was helpful!

Nice video. When you disable the always on mode on the Epix you will get 16 days and that’s not far ahead from the Fenix 7 which should get 18 days. I would always disable the always on display because it doesn’t make any sense because when you turn your wrist the screen will turn on anyway. The longest batterylife I have ever got on my Fenix 7 was 19days because I was ill and couldn’t train for a week and I always charge it when my alarm comes and then I would have two days left🙂. Greets from Austria🙂✌🏾
If you download a gpx file to the watch, then start to follow the route. Does it still need a signal? I currently use OS Map App and as long as i download my map , i do not need a signal on my phone. The route still works.
Thanks…helpful advice 👍
That is a really great feature. Pretty impressive from Coros.
does the watch automaticly count caloriers or do you gotta activate it each time?
Thank you for your tutorials. Do you know of anyway to load custom maps to the app? There is no option in app for Satellite imagery at least in my country. Very frustrating. I have accessed the storage location for maps on my phone but the files dont seem to be in a common map format. THanks
Answered all my questions 👍🏼
Had my first proper outing with handheld gps. Got be a bit scared as it started screaming about the batteries after just a few hours. Only looong after I realised it was only letting me know it will not do backlight anymore - the whole trip consumed less than 30% of the batteries. Lesson learned.
i just downloaded topomap for europe, it works nice, i got on my map a scale and the distance in mi, do you know how i can set that to km, i have the watch metric setting allready to km, but looks like maps and watch settings are two different things. thanks
I just ordered one, haven't received it yet. Great demo. Thanks.
does anyone know if the epix 2 got the function to change the background from black to white like on the fenix 7?
I have the epix pro 2 in 51mm the battery life is great almost 3 weeks. But i do find it annoying when navigating the screen goes out after a minute or so possible to save the amoled screen would love to find s work atound
Fantastic. You may have just saved me from buying an Apple watch. UK resident. I do a bit of hiking and have a Garmin handheld GPS(62 I think it is) that has OS Survey maps. So it's won't show OS footpaths on moors, hills etc? If I am correct, I can plan a route on Garmin connect. I can then send that route to my handheld Or the Garmin Fenix 7? I understand the watch won't have OS maps :-( But it will give me a line/trail to follow? (Like my old hand held Garmin) Why no UK OS maps on a Garmin watch? :-(
Many thanks for your question, the problem with planning in Garmin Connect in the UK is the lack of OS maps, this video takes you through the planning process and navigational experience - ua-cam.com/video/IsKRJcOox1Y/v-deo.htmlsi=8saUf-TP6m8S0mdj Or this vid - ua-cam.com/video/KOSi2dEFWAI/v-deo.htmlsi=NYZAPsh2IOAUkJWv
@@ukgpstraining Thanks a lot. Such a shame the Fenix doesn’t have OS maps. I wonder why? Garmin handheld’s obviously have OS maps.
@@Novacngood185 As Garmin are a US business they just don't 'get it' regarding the UK customer needing to spend a massive licence fee to OS to use the maps.
Always useful video. Every time I want to download one of National Trails gpx file, I have forgotten how to do it... thanks for video!
Happy to help!
I wish garmin would implement various routes option. Good idea from TwNav. thanks for sharing.
Agreed!
I'm comparing Full Great Britain OS mapping 1:50k and 1:25 for TwoNav vs Garmin. £100 (1:50k) and £150 (1:25k) and £200 for 1:50k &1:25k mapping vs £125 and £300. Shame Topo GB 1:25 for Garmin is sooo expensive. Wonder if it's much difference for SO maps for both brand devices? many thanks for video
Simple and really useful video, thank you so much.
Glad it was helpful!
4 years use only? I am still using my old 60CSx only because of the AA battery. Greedy Garmin want users to buy new unit instead of them allowing us to replacement battery. Bull shit. I am seeing some replacement battery for GPSMAP 66 series but user need to hack the unit.
All set up and working to any phone that can receive a text. However to respond to the sat message,,, text must be received by a phone that is set up with Bullitt app. Do they set up a separate account that is not linked to my (or any) Defy device?
Yes, they just need to set up a separate account (which will be linked to their mobile number).
geez you could put a windscreen on your mic.
Thanks for your feedback, this video was created in my early 'UA-cam' days. My production has hopefully improved in the last x 3 years with the use of a proper camera and wireless microphones.
What about the GPSMAP 66 model with AA battery? I absolute hate that lithium battery can not be replaced on those GPSMAP models.
Many thanks for your thoughts. As the 66s was discontinued a number of years ago now this is why we don't include it in our review of current units. You may enjoy this video, in it I answer all the FAQ's I get asked with regard to units with built in batteries - ua-cam.com/video/gvAhTUKxbYE/v-deo.htmlsi=L8vTJrMDxQrd1Mvo
Thanks for another great video! 😊
My pleasure!
Hi, Thx for THE video. Is there any mode similar to the climbpro of garmin ?
Hi thanks for the message, they do not have the Climbpro function that we see on some Garmin watches, if you have a route on the unit that was planned on a map with digital elevation you can see a complete elevation graph of what is ahead and see yourself moving over the graph but just as one complete graph for the whole route, Kind regards GPST
Took mine on a road trip from California to Texas. Was pinging occasionally while on the road through 4 states. The device was able to connect and send/receive messages. My contract expires in July. As you mentioned, compared to other plans below, as long as they are able to maintain service, it’s a small cost for me to pay the freedom plan for on the go satellite service for another year.
graphics design suggests all of those devices were designed pretty much 2 decades ago :) But I did just bought 62st as I just can't have smart watches in my life anymore :) Did a small test - a few miles hike, looks ok. Another test -Highlands :)
will my wired mount for my 680t work with the 700i ?
Sadly not, it is a different mount as the Montana 700 series are larger GPS units
Good day, I would really like to order the bag for the Montana 700, but I live in the Netherlands. Can you tell me how I can order this because I can't get any further because I have to choose from three countries. Thank you in advance, greetings Charles
Sadly post brexit we no longer post overseas due to products getting stuck in customs when customers have not wanted to pay the import duty. I hope you understand.
Did you compare the accuracy of this model with I67 ? It seems it could be as accurate as the I67 is
